The project, entitled “GeoSmart – Technologies for geothermal to enhance competitiveness in smart and flexible operation” is awarded funding by Horizon 2020 and it takes place from March 2019 to March 2023. Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Gökhan Kirkil (R) participated in the project titled “Scenario for Reducing Air Pollution in Dilovası through the Implementation of an Intelligent Transportation System,” funded under the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Program. This project was conducted by Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and ran from September 15, 2018, to September 15, 2021.

The project, entitled “European Energy Poverty: Agenda Co-Creation and Knowledge Innovation” was awarded funding by European Union H2020. Various members in 33 European countries, including KHAS, are involved in the project. Prof. Meltem Ucal serves as the KHAS representative in the project, which will continue the years between 2018 and 2021.          

The Project, entitled “Mythmaking in Oil-Scarce States: Analysis of Turkey and Comparison with Morocco, Jordan, or Kyrgyzstan” was funded by a grant provided by the Kadir Has University Scientific Research Program (BAP) in 2018. Prof. Volkan Ş. Ediger (Coordinator), Assoc. Prof. Eser Selen (Researcher), and Dr. John V. Bowlus (Guest Researcher) conducted the project.

The project, entitled “S-PARC: Envisioning and Testing New Models of Sustainable Energy Cooperation and Services in Industrial Parks” is awarded funding by Horizon 2020 CSA (Coordination and support action) and it takes place from November 2017 to November 2020.  Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Yücekaya (Researcher) participates into the project at Kadir Has University. The project, entitled “Increase Awareness of Public Understanding Through Building Stakeholder Capacity on National Climate Action” awarded by funding Capacity Building in the Field of Climate Change in Turkey Grant Scheme.  Prof. Meltem Ucal was the coordinator of the project, and it was completed in July 2018.

Asst. Prof. Emre Çelebi (Researcher) takes part in the project, entitled “Preventing Tacit Collusion in Deregulated Electricity Markets” which was awarded by funding between 1 September 2017-1 March 2020.

The project, entitled “Annual natural gas demand forecasting for free eligible customers undertake or pay constraint, demand uncertainty and storage constraint” was funded by a grant provided by Kadir Has University Scientific Research Program. Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Yücekaya (Coordinator) and Prof. Ayşe Bilge (Researcher), Asst. Prof. Esra Ağca Aktunç (Researcher) conducted the project.

The project “Energy Preferences of Turkish People- 2” ” was funded by a grant provided by Kadir Has University Scientific Research Program.  Prof. Volkan Ş. Ediger, Assoc. Prof. Gökhan Kirkil (Researcher), Asst. Prof. Emre Çelebi (Researcher), and Prof. Meltem Şengün Ucal (Researcher) conducted the project.

Assoc. Prof. Gökhan Kirkil (Coordinator), Prof. Volkan Ediger (Researcher), Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Yücekaya (Researcher), and Asst. Prof. Emre Çelebi (Researcher) conducted an activity project, by TUBİTAK UİDB 361881 EERA (European Energy Research Alliance) Joint Programme E3S Steering Committee Meeting on 2-3 March 2017. The partners of the project were EERA, TUBITAK (Turkey), NTNU (Norway), JKU-Energy Institute (Austria), CIRCE (Spain), CIEMAT (Spain), METU (Turkey), and ENEA (Italy).

Prof. Meltem Ucal (C) organized the “Thematic Training on Energy Efficiency” event project on February 15-16, 2017, under the TÜBİTAK-EU Horizon 2020 Framework Program Travel Support.

Assoc. Prof. Gökhan Kirkil conducted an infrastructure project, entitled “NEWA2HPC – Preparatory access to PRACE HPC Resources for NEWA test run” and it was completed in 2018.

Dr. John W. Bowlus conducted a visiting researcher project under CESD with Prof. Volkan Ş Ediger the dates between 1 December 2016-1 December 2017.

“Turkish Public Preferences for Energy” was funded by a grant provided by Kadir Has University Scientific Research Program.  Prof. Volkan Ş. Ediger, Assoc. Prof. Gökhan Kirkil (Researcher), Asst. Prof. Emre Çelebi (Researcher), and Prof. Meltem Şengün Ucal (Researcher) conducted the project.

Doç. Dr. Gökhan Kirkil (A) AB ERA-NET-Plus Programı ve 9 AB ülkesinin Ulusal Bilimsel Araştırma Kurumları (Türkiye’de Tübitak) tarafından fonlanan ve 15 Ekim 2015-15 Ekim 2018 tarihleri arasında devam etmiş “Yeni Avrupa Rüzgar Atlası” projesini tamamlamıştır. Ayrıca Avrupa’daki çeşitli araştırma kuruluşları (http://euwindatlas.eu) projedeki diğer işbirlikçilerdir.

Yrd. Doç. Dr. Emre Çelebi yürütücülüğündeki “Türkiye Elektrik Piyasası İçin Ekonomik Denge Modelleri: Piyasa Denge Modelleri ile Üretim/İletim Yatırım Modellerinin Bütünleştirilmesi” başlıklı 30 ay süreli proje, TÜBİTAK 3501 Kariyer Geliştirme Programı kapsamında (SOBAG-115K546 nolu ve 245.922TL bütçeli) desteklenmiştir.

Prof. Volkan Ş. Ediger (Coordinator) participated in the “U2020 Secure, Clean, and Efficient Energy Information Day and Project Marketplace” event project on September 14-16, 2015, funded by the TÜBİTAK Travel Support Program.

The 5th Multinational “Energy and Value Conference” was organized on 7-9 May 2015. The Conference was organized in collaboration with Kadir Has University, Hacettepe University, VU University, and Center for Energy and Value Issues (CEVI). Prof. Volkan Ediger was the co-chairman of the Conference from Kadir Has University. The project was sponsored by the Central Bank, Energy Market Regulatory Authority, Istanbul Stock Exchange, Takasbank and Gas Distribution Industry and Trade Incorporated Company (IGDAS).
