International EEM24 Conference Held

The international conference titled “EEM24 – 20th International Conference on the European Energy Market” was held at Kadir Has University’s Cibali Campus between June 10–12, 2024. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Volkan Ş. Ediger and Dr. Emre Çelebi, the conference hosted around 200 participants — 180 international and 20 local attendees.

This year marked the 20th edition of the conference, which holds a prestigious position in Europe and is organized annually in a different city.

High School Students Discussed Sustainability

The event titled “Youth Seeking Solutions for Sustainable Development Goals”, attended by students from Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School, took place on May 23, 2024, at Kadir Has University’s Cibali Campus.

During the event, 11 groups selected a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and proposed solutions to achieve it. More than 100 participants attended the event.

Energy of the Century Panel Held

The panel titled “The Energy of the First 100 Years of the Republic” was held online on December 19, 2023. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Volkan Ş. Ediger, the event featured contributions from M.Sc. Mustafa Yörükoğlu, M.Sc. Muzaffer Başaran, M.Sc. Erkan Çetinkaya, and Dr. Nejat Tamzok. The event, which attracted considerable interest, was attended by approximately 40 participants.
Presentation Delivered to Nigerian Delegation The “Workshop on Understanding Turkey’s Energy Sector” event was held on February 28, 2024, at Kadir Has University’s Cibali Campus. Hosted by Dr. Afolabi Otitoju, the meeting was attended by the Chair and members of the Nigerian Government’s Power Committee, including six Senators and seven senior executives from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission. During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Volkan Ş. Ediger presented on “History and Overview of Energy in Turkey,” Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yücekaya spoke on “Energy Markets (Electricity and Natural Gas) in Turkey,” and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Kirkil delivered a presentation titled “Future Trends in Energy Markets in Turkey.”
